Algebuckina Bridge

The bridge, spanning the Neales River (dry when I was there!), is the largest single bridge in SA, consisting of 19 spans of 30.9 metres. It is on the Register of National Estate and the State Heritage Register.

A total of 352 men were employed to build the bridge, which cost 60000 pounds to build and was opened in 1892. It was strengthened in 1926 to carry heavier traffic.
